Osberton Estate is in The Dukeries region, which is a particularly historic part of North Nottinghamshire. During the 17th and 18th centuries prominent Ducal families chose to live at Welbeck, Thoresby, Clumber Park and Worksop Manor. The landscape legacy of this and the folklore of Sherwood Forest is highly valued in how we look after the estate.

It is historically a wooded heathland landscape of Oak, Birch, Scots Pine and Heather and large areas have been put at risk after many years of industrial land uses in the region. The trees and heathland plants are a valuable habitat for nature and we seek to enhance these wherever possible.

Farming & Land Management

Our approach balances producing food with regenerative land management to re-establish soil health. We practice a low input strategy that vastly reduces the need for any herbicide and pesticide interventions. Instead this allows nature to apply its own checks and balances for the good of the land in the hands of future generations.

Wildlife & Woodlands

Preserving and enhancing our natural woodlands and the wildlife that thrives within and around them is a measurable benefit that is regularly monitored and reviewed. Consequently, as land returns to the direct management of the team at Foljambe Estates, it is invested in to ensure this historically important countryside is returned to its pre-industrial environmental value.
