About Us

We are Foljambe Estates

Foljambe Estates is a family run company set up in 2013 to manage the estate businesses. Our members of staff are invaluable to the daily operation of the estate; we take great pride in our brand which our team help us to promote and improve upon daily. The high quality of our service provision would not be possible without each and every one of them.

The Foljambe family and their workforce have strived as a team at Osberton Estate since the 18th century. This fosters a community that cares deeply about what we do and how we do it – we all believe in getting the little things right and proudly continue this tradition, looking to sustain an environment of which you can really feel part – whether you work here or not.

WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOU WILL LIKE WHAT YOU FIND WITHIN FOLJAMBE ESTATES.

A potted history

  • 1784

The Osberton and Scofton Estates are amalgamated to become ‘Osberton Estate’ following the marriage of Francis Ferrand Foljambe to Mary Arabella Thornhagh. Prior to this marriage the Foljambes resided in Derbyshire and Yorkshire.

  • 1814

George Savile Foljambe, the noted huntsman and founder of the Grove Hunt, becomes owner of the estates. In 1833 he built Scofton church on the site of the former Scofton Hall in memory of his first wife who died in child birth.

  • 1920

Captain Edmond Foljambe takes over the estates having served and been wounded in the First World War. His stewardship keeps the estates together through some of the darkest hours of the 20th Century – the 1930’s depression and the Second World War. RAF Worksop is built on the estate in the last years of WWII.

  • 1960

George Michael Foljambe inherits the estates and restores the, by then derelict, RAF airfield to open countryside and in 1970 he founds the Osberton International Horse Trials.

2013

Ralph and Rebecca Foljambe take over the running of Osberton Estate and establish Foljambe Estates Ltd to build on the legacy of previous members of the Foljambe family. They are specifically motivated to continue to improve, modernise and secure the future through new farming and leisure enterprises. Watch this space…
